Byron Bay's Deb Bond is an independent singer/songwriter/musician who performs a Folk, Roots and Rhythm based style on mandolin, acoustic lapsteel guitar, six string guitar, stomp box and tambourine, accompanied by rich, dynamic vocals and melodies. Her music draws from Folk, Blues, Country and Celtic roots in a way, “That’s both fresh and traditional sounding.” (Jo Brew, Beat Streetpress, Melbourne, 2002). Recent years have seen Deb play shows at The Espy, St.Kilda to remote venues in the Northern Territory. Woodford Folk Festival and Byron Bay's Fatherhood Festival to small coastal towns. Her live performances are passionate and original and Deb currently tours the East Coast a majority of the time.

Deb spent her early years in Bundaberg, a sugar cane farming region on the East Coast of QLD, Australia. She first picked up the guitar at age twelve and taught herself to play with the help of a rhythm guitar book. Deb's parents then bought her a secondhand nylon string guitar for thirty dollars. Her older sister showed her a few guitar chords and for the next five years they wrote, played, sang and occasionally performed as a duo.

Deb finished her schooling in Brisbane before relocating to North Stradbroke Island off the South East Queensland Coast, where she discovered surfing and continued her passion to sing, write and play guitar. After a couple of years on North Straddie, Deb moved to Lennox Head on the Far North Coast of NSW. At nineteen Deb's waitressing work paid for a 1980's Peavy PA and the Maton cutaway acoustic guitar she plays today.

Over the years the two sisters' paths had taken different directions. For the next five years Deb continued to play, before she plucked up the courage to perform as a soloist. She began performing sparadically. A few years down the track she formed a band for a year before continuing on solo .

Deb recorded her first demo studio album in 2001 and moved to Melbourne where she spent one year playing shows before returning to the Far North Coast. At this time Deb took a break from playing and performing for three years. Since 2004  Deb has been touring nationally, (opening shows for acts - Angelique Kidjo, Archie Roach, Jeff  Lang, Deborah Conway, Tex Perkins, Mia Dyson, Monique Brumby, John Butler Trio, Jez and others ).

In May 2006, Deb recorded her first full length album titled, "High on the Warm Dusty Breeze". [Check out ALBUMS and TOUR DATES ]. After completion of the album Deb played a four month road tour from Byron Bay > Cairns > Darwin > Sydney : June - October 2006. ( See - " Narrative of a Road Tour 2006.") Deb has since returned to the Bay to write her second album.
